Channel Week - Conclusion
All twenty two boats that started in Lymington over a week ago arrived safely back in Lymington on Saturday afternoon, which given two days of pretty difficult weather is testimony to the abilities and determination of all the skippers taking part. In particular big praise to the skippers taking part in Channel Week for the first time.
The week itself was fantastic – hard racing, lots of parties, great food, a wonderful group of people with a very friendly atmosphere and even a game of Cricket on the beach!

SORC Coastal Series – Weymouth Races and the Series conclusion.
As fourteen boats made their way to Royal Thames last Friday evening for the Channel Week qualifier from the Solent to Weymouth sailed primarily in the hours of darkness, the decisions were do I reef? Do I put up a No three? Is this twenty knots SW sea breeze going to drop? Some went for double reefs in the end and the race started in a strong breeze that continued until well after the Needles.

Shetland Round Britain and Ireland 2010, the best in living memory.
The 2010 edition of the Shetland Round Britain and Ireland race was the best in living memory; it had everything a sailor could wish for in a short-handed ocean race.
For a start there was a very big fleet comprising 56 hot boats with keen crews.
The classes were closely matched, from the first cohort of class-40 ever to contend this classic event right through to the Corinthians in class 4. (view now)
