Solo Offshore Racing Club

Background

Solo Offshore Racing Club Ltd is a private company limited by guarantee and a not for profit organisation.
 
The club has three directors:
 
Paul Peggs, Peter Olden and Jerry Freeman.
 
The club was named in November 2009, Solo Offshore Racing Club Ltd replacing the previous name of Racing at Petit Bateau Ltd, formed in December 2004.
 
Aims of the club
 
The club aims to promote and support solo and short handed yacht racing and to organise solo and short-handed yacht races.
 
The club is also active in social and training events.
 
Activities
 
The club’s principal activities are:
 
Solo racing events on the south coast of England, and to France, Ireland and Spain.

Training days
 
Forum

Solo sailors are encouraged to become associated with the club via the independant worldwide forum ‘Petit Bateau’ where they can interact with a very experienced group of solo skippers. The Forum is free.

 
Awards
 
To celebrate the formation of the new club the following awards will be made for the season 2010 and annually.
 
Best newcomer; highest aggregate position in all sorc races.
Best young skipper; highest aggregate position in all sorc races
